Mqsvc.exe – What is it, Uses, Disable/Remove

Mqsvc.exe belongs to the Windows operating system and comes with Microsoft Outlook. The main function is to send e-mail one by one which is known as Microsoft Message Queuing.  The Mqsvc.exe comes by default with Windows OS, although it’s not an essential part, if you are using Outlook express then this executable file is required.


The full form of MQSVC is Message Queuing Service.

What is Mqsvc.exe & its uses?

MQSVC is a secure messaging protocol that works on the enterprise model. It allows messages to be sent or received between applications at different time periods across networks and systems with Windows installed.

It even works when systems are offline momentarily by using a make-shift storage location. This way it helps in establishing communication without the need for direct connections between different networks and systems.

MQSVC runs the Message Queue Information Service (MQIS) database that runs over the SQL server. MQIS is known as Primary Enterprise Controller. It runs messages in public queues across the enterprise.

Is it safe or virus

Mqsvc.exe is a trustworthy application. But if malware disguises itself with a similar name, then the system could get corrupted.

There are a few signs that foretell the presence of a suspicious file:

  • If the mqsvc.exe application is using abnormally high CPU memory
  • If the internet keeps connecting and disconnecting often.
  • If file Properties and location path of avastui.exe are not as per original.
  • If the VeriSign certificate of the process is not issued to Microsoft Corporation. 

Error Errors

Some common errors encountered with mqsvc.exe are:

  • Mqsvc.exe could not be launched. Class not registered
  • Windows failed to start – mqsvc.exe.

These errors can be caused due to:

  • Corrupt entry in Registry
  • Conflicts with other Softwares
  • Missing/ broken mqsvc.exe file

Since Mqsvc.exe is coming with the Windows Operating system, thus it is suggested not to remove it. However, if Mqsvc.exe is consuming high CPU resources then you may remove Outlook express from the system and Mqsvc.exe will be uninstalled from the system.
