Adobe Acrobat cloud utility is known as coresync.exe. It processes cloud synchronization and is a function related to the Creative Cloud Software desktop application.

The full form of the coresync is Core Synchronization.

What is coresync.exe?

It comes with a Creative Cloud app that allows storing your project in one place.  If you are using the latest Adobe Acrobat software on your Windows system then you must have seen in the Task Manager that coresync.exe is running in the system background. Whenever you open a PDF file, the coresync.exe process starts in the system background and cloud transitions and synchronization as well so that the copy of the file will be stored on the cloud and on your desktop PC as well.

File Size and Location

The coresync.exe is an executable file that is located in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Creative Cloud\ or C:\Program Files (x86) \Adobe\Adobe Sync\CoreSync\ folder. The file size of coresync is around 38 KB in most occurrences, but the size can vary from system to system and processing power.

Uses and Functionality of Coresync.exe

The file in itself isn’t actually essential for the functionality of Acrobat’s services, but it does ensure seamless cloud transitions and synchronization. It syncs the documents on all Creative Cloud services on the system to the Adobe servers and it is an integral part of the main program’s installation. Disabling it might mean that other services are rendered non-operational.

The original file is digitally signed, and usually, it is not visible. For connection, it does utilize LAN ports and local networks. It can document keyboard and cursor actions and it does have the ability to keep a check on applications.

Why does Coresync.exe use a High CPU?

It is unusual for coresync.exe to use up resources whilst the system is idle. While it does take a few seconds for general functioning, high use of resources when not in use may imply that the program might not be entirely genuine.

If you’re still experiencing the high usage of resources even with an authentic file, it may just be a bug in the program.

Make sure that the Coresync.exe file should be located under C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Creative Cloud\. But if the file is located in any place other than this then it might be a virus of malware. In such a case full system and malware scan are recommended.

Errors

You may encounter such errors when it comes to the coresync.exe file.

  • Adobe has detected that the application Core Sync has unexpectedly quit.
  • Cannot register coresync.exe file
  • File missing: coresync.exe
  • Can’t load coresync.exe

Before rectifying these issues, do ensure that the file is not a Trojan. As the name implies, the Trojan virus often infiltrates the system under the guise of an executable such as coresync.exe and the coresync.exe Trojan is an extremely dangerous crypto jacked. This Trojan will use 100% of CPU resources and will exhaust power almost immediately, and the worst part is that its symptoms are often silent until it has done significant damage. To ensure that this Trojan hasn’t yet entered your system, check the location of the file. If it isn’t found in the authentic location as specified, it may be a Trojan.
